the one time I rode the TTC, because my travels rarely take me on subway routes unless I am shopping and need to carry more than feasible on TTC) was to JazzFest last summer. I met a young man from Russia whose father was a diplomat from VIetNam stationed in Moscow who came to Toronto to study medicine. We talked about a lot things I do not remember but also about Daisaku Ikeda and the SGI. I never heard back from him (I sent him an email) but it was a memorable occasion. I used to ride the El and the Metra, both in Chicago, and they are, like my one ride, full of memories of people I met, people I talked with, people I had fun with, especially the Metra (the train). I rode from Berwyn, west of Union Station half an hour, where my friend's home is located. It was very cold at times, waiting for the Metra in Berwyn, but fortunately, the distance from Union Station to my office was 10 yards (across the street).
